Our nonprofit was founded to help provide financial coverage for hospice patients and their families. When thinking about the name of the organization, Healthcare in Heaven Founder, Mackenzie Dexter, knew she wanted to include "healthcare" in the title to promote the mission to provide healthcare coverage. As for the origin of "heaven", Mackenzie wanted to portray the Catholic ideals that people go to heaven after death. In a way, she wanted to provide a positive outlook on a tragic, heartbreaking situation and show that this is not the end, but the beginning of a new life in Heaven.
